- Cummins12V98Explorer IIIIAMICHABOD I have installed owned BOTH systems. MAXX has a chance of leaking thru the holes you have drilled thru the side of the vent to hold attachment clips. I will take the Fantastic any day for many reasons. NOT concerned about a leak. Do as I did and there will new NO leak.

I have a Fantastic fan in my bathroom. I bought a Fantastic vent cover for it but returned it and bought a MaxAire because I'm not going to drill mounting holes in my roof to install it.The MaxAire vent works fine. I don't need to run it on max speed.
No holes to be drilled. Watch this guy put his on.

You DON't drill holes you remove 4 screws that hold the vent down to the roof. YES there are screws drilled into your roof from the factory so what is the big deal.
Remove Dicor and screw then decor under bracket and screw down, VERY simple.
EZ CHEEZY
Another great reason to have a Maxx Air cover,no opening up anything on roof with the possibility for leaks after installation.
Maxx Air mounts to the side of the vent housing with no intrusion of the roof seal. - Cummins12V98Explorer III

Why install these? Do these allow you to use the vent when it's raining then? That would be nice as I've wet my bed several times!
All three of my Maxx vents have rain sensors. They are not always 100 percent functional, meaning water inside RV! The Fantastic vent covers take care of all the negatives with no restriction on air flow. - M_R_E_ExplorerI have a Fantastic fan in my bathroom. I use a common vent cover on one of mine. It does cut down on the flow, I run it on 2 instead of 1, but it still works fine.
Same here, however I used a hole saw to drill a number of large round holes in the side of the cover to allow extra air out. No problem with rain or bugs since there is a screen on the inside of the RV. - dhullExplorer IIWhy install these? Do these allow you to use the vent when it's raining then? - atwowheelguyExplorerI didn't even know Fan-Tastic Fan made a vent cover until after I tried to put a Maxxair cover on the Fan-Tastic Fan vent. The Maxxair was the only one on the shelf at the RV store, so I didn't know any better. The Maxxair grille stuck out too far to clear an adjacent plumbing vent. I'm glad it didn't fit because the Fantastic Fan vent cover allows the vent lid to open further.
- AtleeExplorer IISince you already have a Fantastic Fan installed now, I would definitely opt for the Fantastic Fan Vent cover. It's designed for covering the Fantastic Fan.
On my last trailer, I replaced the junk factory vent fan that was in the bathroom. I had a Fantastic Fan and Fantastic Fan Vent Cover installed at the same time. They worked great together.rbrand wrote:
Hey Everybody! I'm Sorry. I only wanted a cover for my fan. Not to throw the **** into it.
Humbly regretful.
