Vent Covers

We put max air on the TT we had. Worked good. With the class c, we had fantastic fans put in and went with their fantastic vents.

Thanks, everyone. It sounds like we will be in the market for Maxxair2 covers.

Had one of those for a couple of years. Then one spring I found it in pieces on the roof. I guess the sun and snow did it in. The other covers were Maxair and were fine so I bought another Maxair.

I bought the Maxxair, and they work well for us. No opinion, though, on whether they are better than others. Just make sure that for those vents that have fans, and especially high-volume fans like Fantastic Fan, that you get covers that are designed to handle the air flow. Otherwise you might burn out the fan motor.

X2 on the Maxxair II's. Installed a couple a few months ago and love them.

I have the maxair ones too and they are great but if I did it again I would get the maxair2 so you can hinge it up to clean your vent lids. My lids get very dirty from the desert wind and they are brown and to clean I have to unbolt the maxair to clean the vent lids.

I have a knock-off brand of Maxx Air style vent covers on all 3 vents on my ccurrent amper. No problems at all. Reason I had them installed on my new camper is because last Summer, hail knocked out both vents and the shower skylight. So we decided when we got our new camper last September, we'd get the covers. Figured it was better to have them beat up by hail (if it ever happened again), than have the vent covers beat out and then rain come in! So went with the cheap knock off brand. So if it ever gets beat up and broken by hail again... I'm not out that much money. I figure an expensive one will get destroyed in hail just as easy as a cheap one. And if they have to be replaced, the process is the same for both.

It is VERY nice to leave the roof vents (all 3 of them) open, even when it's raining, or even when driving on the road! So far, my cheap-o-vent is doing just fine! It appears to be nice and healthy! No signs of age or distress, and they survived their first winter, a couple near miss tornadoes, and lots and lots of high wind! This has been a REAL interesting weather year!

Maxxair does make a quality vent cover and the Maxxair II is what we use over our vent fans, easy to clean as well.

X2 the Maxxair. I keep my vent open pretty mmuch all the time. Helps to eliminate moisture during storage too.
