I would do whatever it took to get my family to safety. 1 ft of running rising water will kill you fast... If that meant driving away in my TV and leaving the trailer...that's what I would do.
Sticks and staples is covered by insurance...unless there is actual time (warning) to get the trailer hitched up...it's getting left in an emergency.
