VIP Tow><Brake question

Ok this is an older unit. Got everything hooked up and working. Car unit is working, MH unit is working and double checked all wiring and connections. Even the umbilical cord. When you press the manual button the system shows brake on and trouble! Brake isn’t on and is retracted. All adjustment are where they need to be. System works the actuator pushes the brake and releases but I get the brake on warning even though it’s retracted!
I’m assuming someone here has one or has had one. Anyone run into something like this? The breakaway works which is all I’m concerned with. So if I can’t get it I’ll leave it as is and look for a replacement next year.
