Visited states map

I've never seen any "rules" for the visited states map. My personal rule is to fill in the states where I've camped overnight. That leaves the northeast, the west coast and Oklahoma. I've never been in Washington or Oregon, but they're on my list. I've been in or through all the others but not camped there.
