This cat does NOT have to be hungry to be in this neighborhood. From the pictures it is clear it is very well fed.
He/she could simply be traversing the area from one habitat to another. Perhaps he/she is looking for a mate. Or he has to shift his/her habitat due to other cats in the area.
As for those who claim that Coyotes eat and attack humans...it has been proven time and again...and again that this is just fallacy and myth. Coyotes are shy creatures who would much rather avoid humans than confront them.
There is a pack of about 7 coyotes that live in the middle of downtown Chicago in one of those urban areas that are undeveloped and rather wild and live in harmony with their human neighbors.
And I can vouch for the fact that I have never seen a cat this big in downtown Tucson where I am now. But a 10 minute drive from Tucson puts you in their habitat.
