Visitors should pee outside!

Hello and welcome to my rant,

My wife and I live full time in our 5th wheel and are very comfortable with the accommodations and deal wit the RV systems quite well.

We have 600 gallons of fresh water storage and a 300 gallon waste tank at out "home spot" to keep us from having to haul water too often.

Last summer we had visitors. After they left I was running my macerator pump to transfer from the 5er tanks to my big tank and the pump took a dump. Bad noises then stopped. All full of poo and I have to take it apart and fix it.. Yay!!!

What I found was a 9mm shell casing that someone had put down the toilet.

Today we had guests again. We decided to go to the beach and a guest used the toilet before we left. We came home to a flood. Somehow the guest had managed to flush but not allow the toilet valve to close completely. The water continued to run, filled the black tank and then dumped 100+ gallons of water on the bathroom floor.

I tried several times to duplicate the "stuck valve" and could not. It was stuck when we got home and I barely touched it and it snapped closed. I eased, twisted and pressed every which way and I cannot duplicate the failure.

Now I have a completely full waste tank and about 20 gallons of fresh water to face my Monday with.

I am generally mean and ornery enough to keep visitors away but given the story above I obviously need to work on my personality because they keep coming.

Thank you for tuning in. :)

  • Yup, things were easier when we had outhouses. Not necessarily that warm in the Winter but definitely easier on the plumbing.
  • We had a visitor at home try to clear a toilet by flushing again with the bowl full. Not the best idea. Flooded the upstairs bathroom, and got into the floor under the toilet. I found out about it when I saw water running out of the ceiling fan in the kitchen!

I was not a happy camper...
  • So if 'issues' had occurred when guests where visiting while living in a S&B you would go on a rant starting with the title....... "Visitors should pee outside!"

STUFF happens...you deal with it and move on.

When we FTd had a fitting blow off line on backside of water heater.....have no idea how much water ran but it ran for several hours as we slept.
Enough that our CG site and 2 others were completely flooded and over 2" of running water was in kitchen/living room when we woke up.
    $6000 damage.
And I didn't even have a guest to blame it on.

    Things break....mistakes get made......STUFF Happens.
