Sometimes you just can't win. If the cops decide they're gonna give you a ticket -- well, son, you're gonna get a ticket. Regardless of if you're doing 10 miles UNDER the speed limit or not. They WILL find a way.
If you've never had the opportunity to have a run-in with a crooked cop good on you. But ONE experience with a bad cop will sour you on EVER thinking they're looking out for your "own good" forever.
To me, they are The Enemy. That's why I have a radar detector and NO tickets for the past 7 years. The radar detector warns me of The Enemy.
I understand you don't have to be an angry person to feel the way you do. LEO wear vests to stop bullets, because it only takes one bullet to drastically alter, or end, your life and they never know whether the next traffic stop is a nut-job. It's best to stay away from bullets. I won't say ALL LEO are bad, but it only takes one. People can keep their head in the sand if they want, but somewhere, RIGHT NOW, someone's life is being ruined by a bad LEO. If I had a Bad Cop vest, I'd probably have a slightly different attitude. Not bashing, simply reality, whether you choose to accept it or not. It's no longer just inner-city youth who have a severe lack of trust, or respect, when it comes to LEO. It's a shame, really. I feel more and more like cattle and less like a protected citizen. By the way, I've had one traffic ticket in the past 25 years, and that ticket was over 5 years ago. I've never been locked up, and I'd like to keep it that way.
