- DownTheAvenueExplorerAs a measurable portion of retail moves to e-commerce, the massive parking lots at some stores will be forever under utilized. Turning that unused space and capital investment into a revenue stream by leasing or selling to free standing retail that augments and encourages traffic is brilliant. The last thing Walmart is concerned about is losing the parking space to overnight RVers who contribute so little as to be meaningless to the gross annual sales.
- midnightsadieExplorer IIwal mart camp ,sounds good even pay a small fee.
- AirdaileExplorerWith truckers needing to use rest areas and Walmart town centers going up, it's getting tough to find a place to catch a couple of hours of shut-eye.
- gboppExplorerI'm sure Walmart is making the changes to improve their bottom line.
Maybe they could call their parking lots Camp-Walmart and start charging? - CroweExplorerNot a new concept at all. As stated above, these are strip malls that add restaurants and other stores as stand-alones. Bass Pro and Cabelas did this years ago.
- Cloud_DancerExplorer IISome of us have fallen on hard times. How to help the less fortunate has always been a problem, and now it's worst, that's all. Automation and robotics is part of our evolution, but it also has its downside.
- Ralph_CramdenExplorer IIThe net has lots of pictures, and not photoshopped LOL.
Livin the dream LOL.
Did they use tapcons for tent pegs?
Could we invite you over for dinner?
Prevost owner trying to find the RV accessories aisle. - colliehaulerExplorer IIII can think of only one time I seen a dilapidated rv at Wallyworld. Most are new motorcoach's or 5th wheels with a few (C's) and TT's thrown in. Most on there way to Texas or coming from Texas (snowbirds). They have a separate lot that fills up with RV'S and a random semi (most semi's use the new Loves truck stop). I remember the dilapidated trailer sat there for a month or two before moving on. I don't know if he left on his own or was asked to leave.
Forgot to add the far North lot is close to all the fast food restaurant's and is fairly quiet. - Grit_dogNavigator^What seems even more strange is in Eastgate in Bellevue, there are homeless RVs parking for extended periods. I mean real deal, don't know how they made it that far from Seattle without braking down or falling apart. There's one at the Safeway for the last couple weeks that has one side literally with a hole burned through it and plywood over the hole!
- MitchF150Explorer IIIOur Walmart turned into a homeless RV park a couple of years ago... They FINALLY had to post the no overnight parking signs and at least got them out of the parking lot..
Now, they just park on the street, but at least they have to move eventually...
When enforced..
