Well I think it boils down to the original question. Is it ok to deploy slides?
If it has feathers and quacks and waddles like a duck...Its A Duck!!
If you've asked to park overnight then do just that!
If you go into camping mode your camping and will attract other campers being legit or vagrant.
Do I sleep over at a Wal Mart?? I am not going to lie,,, yes I do!
Not with my family and trailer but with a 58' semi truck. I park like I am in the loading stall and leave my parking lights on as if I would when delivering and jump in the sleeper for a few winks.
Even if I don't have a WM load on but need some rest I find a loading dock.
Now with that being said,, I was asked to leave a Truck Stop (with my truck) because It appeared as though I was camping. (crazy huh)
Met a friend driving for another company, I have a small bbq grill mounted on the side of my truck (love to bbq). We bought some steaks and a few taters, fired up the grill and erected a beach umbrella I had between the trucks and set out a few chairs.
Parking security pulls up in there ford ranger pu with the yellow blinking light and tells us we are not allowed to camp in this area its a truck stop..
I looked to see if any one else had a PeterBuilt Tent.
tried to explain and he cuts me off with,,,"We've had complaints"
I tried again to show Barney what I had going on and he puts his hand on his Mace Canister and fake hand cuff pocket and tells me " Well whats next, you do this and the next guy has four friends and the next guy has ten friends" "We just don't allow camping".
I said ok, and took the umbrella down threw the chairs in the jockey box shut the lid to the bbq and Barney drove away.
We went back to looking like trucks in a truck stop and ate dinner in the truck!
Learned that lesson once!!
