OP: Why don't you ask the store manager why the change. His answer would be interesting.
Didn't have to ask !!
For the posters from Oregon:
Several years ago (summertime) campgrounds along the Columbia River
were full up. Getting late, figure we would overnight at the Wally in
the Dalls, OR.
Pulled in about 8:30 PM. Was on my way in to the store, as a mgr and an employee came out to meet me (5th wheel). The mgr politely explained why parking was not allowed - people in tents, even sleeping on the ground, etc., staying for week/s at a time.
They suggested a location truckers used a few miles down the road, which worked out fine.
California.
The Pismo Beach Wally has not allowed overnighters for years. First discovered that (long ago) - actually went in and asked an employee.
He said it was OK. When the store closed, security came around and said we (there were a couple of others) had to move.
He suggested a business complex and/or a *K-Mart* lot about 1/2 mile away. K-Mart was fine.
In my area, I know of at least 3 Wallys that have had "No Overnight Parking" signs posted since they were built - 5-10 years ago.
Some will have RV's parked during the daytime, who move on once the store closes.
So - this is nothing new!:W
