Great points. There is .5" lip all the way around the compartment so it looks like I have more room than I do. Ideally if my tray (.125" plate) just cleared the bottom lip I would have about .5" on the top. I can notch the lip for slides themselves if need be. So that being said I could maybe get by with .5" ply? The Gen sets on ribber feet in the front corners and wheels on the back. The cool thing is I measured and it will fit sideways so with it fully slid out the exhaust would be almost 2 ft way from the trailer.
