Want to make a Gen slide - how thick of Alum plate?

I build things with aluminum. I can stand on a .125 aluminum plate with 15" span and it will deflect but resumes original shape when I step off. For your generator plate, I would recommend 3/16" or 1/4" plate.

FWIW, I visit my local yard and buy off-cuts from the fab shop. They are sold by weight. If I need large pieces, I pay the going rate.
