I was all set on a 07 BT Cruiser 5291 on a Ford chassis, had the Rv inspected and everything checked out. Spoke to the seller and they seem like great people, they bought the RV new and kept it in great shape. Then saw a local listing for a 07 Georgetown 350 bunkhouse model on a Ford chassis, with not much going on this weekend we decided to go and look at it. Wow it was a real nice unit and having bunks would be great as we have two kids ages 11 and 9. Now I am totally confused, both unit will cost about the same because I would need to spend on airfare and gas getting the BT home. My questions are1. This being our first RV should we stick with a B+ or is an A ok for us. 2. Will A cost more in maintenance, I saw several post about folks having a hard time finding someone to repair their A 3. We plan to towe a car on a dolly, which is better rv is better equipped4. I have not seen the BT Cruiser that we are buying but I have seen several used ones for sale and one thing I noticed is that the materials (sofa, tv, carpet, etc.) in the Georgetown seems to be higher grade materials. What do you guys think, again price wise it's about the same but my wife likes the B+ because of its size and drivability, but like the A for the additional of the bunks. We didn't test drive either yet because of weather. Thanks

I would go with the Georgetown. 4 people in a BT would be a problem for me. The kids will much rather have a bunk of their own, and you and wife will appreciate not having to convert the dinette or couch into a bed on a daily basis.Take a very close look at the storage spaces available, then figure what you will want to take along. I suspect the Class A has more storage available. Before you decide you HAVE to go get in one, especially the smaller one. Driving a class a can take a little getting used to. Backing either one can be a challenge and takes some practice. But If I can anybody can.

we have a B+ its great for two older people, your a young family the A will do more for you, expense? there all money pits. tires are a big chunk,no matter how good they look if there 5to 7yrs old they gotta go. a blow out WILL cause thousands of dollars in damage. have fun in your travels.go get the A.

Get the Class A. You and the kids will love the bunks and the extra space.Yes, they are an expense but it's the only way to travel.

Things to consider:1. Parking at home vs. storage - can you park an A at home in your driveway/side yard? Or will you have to pay for storage when it's not in use? How does that compare to parking the B+2. Driver - you mentioned that your wife likes the size of the B+ better. Is she going to be happy driving the A, or will you be the one doing all the driving all the time? If so, are you OK with that?3. Length - how do the lengths compare? If the A is significantly longer than the B+, is that going to impact where you can stay? Are you just staying at RV Parks or do you want to stay at more primitive campgrounds which are likely to have size constraints. Length can also decide whether you use the RV for day trips, second vehicle (if your primary is in the shop), etc. or just for vacation time.4. Personal preference - how do you and your family feel about sharing close quarters? You and your family need to decide FOR YOU if the added space is worth more than what you potentially lose.5. The TOAD - again, considering lengths, will one RV be more user friendly than the other to leave the TOAD behind at times?If there isn't much difference with the lengths, then it will be strictly personal preference. Height difference could be a consideration also.

Get the class A if there are 4 of you. As far as not finding places to work on class As, that's a myth. Good luck!

My main reason for wanting the A is the bunks. As for size the b+ is 30' and the A is 35' so a difference of 5'. I am going to do some measuring to see if I can park a 35' on my side yard if I can't then the A is definitely a no go as I don't want to have to pay for storage.

My wife really doesn't want to drive either but will definitely help on long drives, more than likely she will drive 10-20% of the times when I need a little nap for the most part I will drive a majority if the times.

The Georgetown I looked at was pretty nice inside, maybe it's an upgraded model.....it was an SE. I would love not to buy an entry level but I have limited budget for the purchase. . I really didn't think of a bunk model because of the price As most A with bunks are in the $50k range and this was the only unit I saw in my price range and it was only am hour away

I would need to fly out and buy the BT but bases on inspections I had done they said the unit was in great condition. I don't mind traveling as I'm in the Northeast and prefer buying outside my region.

I'm looking to get into either unit for about $40k, is that in the ballpark or am I paying too much. Both unit have very low miles and low generator hours.

Are both BT Cruisers and Georgetown entry level model.

I did a quick search and here in the south west a class A gas, 5-8 years old with <25K miles, lots are <40K$. Have fun with the search. I am just keeping my TT for now.

Length does matter. Many places a B+ can park in regular parking lots where a Class A MH will have to drive on by and get to a campground and then double back with the car being towed. You can tow a smaller car with the B+ but it is not 100% necessary as with the longer Class A MH.

Lots of campgrounds have a limited number of pull through sites so it helps to have a class C or B MH that can be backed into a site. Where we have traveled the state and federal campgrounds seldom have more than 20% of the sites that are a pull through one and often at campgrounds the sites are on a first come basis.

Class A is fine if you do not mind being restricted to private RV parks on your travels.

Class A! You will not like having 4 people cramped ointo the B+.

I'm in the market for a class A with bunks and if I came across a deal such as you say you found, I would ju mp on it.

Just finished measuring the area where I'm going to park the MH and long story short a 35' unit should fit.

If we do go with an A it definitely has to have bunks and this unit is the cheapest one I've seen I stopped looking when I found the B+ But I just kept an eye out just in case something popped up and when I saw that I could potentially get into an A with bunks for the same money I figured why not take a look at it especially since it was only an hour away.

The B+ is a nice size unit and should fit us fine but having the bunk was definitely nice.

Not so. I've owned 3 class A mohos, including a 40' DP and was able to stay in many public campgrounds.

Many campgrounds can handle a 35+ft MotorHome. I routinely have put my TT (35ft total length) in many public/private and State Park campgrounds. never an issue.

I go to several federal forest campgrounds that won't accept over 25ft. It's not the pad that's too short, it's the road in that's too curvy for larger MHs to get into. A TT/TV combo at 35ft combined can often maneuver better than a 35ft MH.

We started out with a 35 ft gas with 3 slides and had no problems finding a campground to camp in. We now have a 42 ft DP with 4 slides and have found very few that we cannot camp in. When traveling from point A to point B, we stay at Walmarts or FlyingJ or other big mall areas. I would also recommend that you get one with as many slides as you can afford. A 30 ft with no slides and 4 people to me would be close quarters.

We have a 36' motorhome with 2 slides and I cannot imagine 4 people in here all the time. There are only 2 of us and it is very comfortable. I think as a family you would do better with the Class A for the storage, beds/bunks and comfort for all involved on those rainy days.
