Washer Dryer Combos

I accidentally posted this in just the Class A section but thought it needed to go here instead:

I would love opinions on the washer dryer combos that you all have. The pros and cons etc. We're going to be purchasing one and would like some reviews before we do. Thanks!!

  • Started out with a Combo in the MH when purchased in 2002, took it out. Year's later, after retirement, I had been looking to put a combo back in. We have had our's in for about two year's now and Wife uses it everyday while at FHU CG's. Now, here's a secret I tell everyone, if you can live with scratch and dent, call the Oregon distributor and see what they have. We had called and been put on a list....long story short, saved about 5-600.00 and the small dent cannot be scene once installed. Love the Combo! (I'm sure the stacked are better but some of us don't have the room).
  • Splendide is the only one mentioned so far. Is this the best brand? What are others being used?
  • We just down sized from a 38' FW that had a stacked washer and dryer and now are thinking about trying to fit a combo unit in our 30' FW. I would love to have the stacked but space won't allow it. :(
  • Splendide combo vented bought new with trailer in 2007. Never a problem. DW loves it. Always uses it unless she has waited too many days and needs to go to a laundry for multiple machines. Put in a load, set it for wash and dry, go about our daily routines, come back later to a clean and dry load of laundry.
  • Hate em - love the stacked unit - when we had the combo we were a wrinkled mess

Waste of money in my opinion
  • Not sure what ro_sie has, but I have a Splendid 2100xc, and have no problems washing king size sheets. Even wash our king size comforter in it.

If you have room for stackables, get those. If not, get a vented combo, 2100xc.

Pros.. Not going to a laundrymat. I do usually a small load every couple days. Cons.. It takes a little longer, and there is a learning curve in order to not end up with wrinkled clothes.
  • Love them. Make sure you get a vented one and don't overload it. Don't plan on washing a set of sheets in it. toooo big. I have had a washerdryer in a motorhome for about 10 years. when parked with full hook ups they are great. don't bother using it with out fhu. Great going home with no dirty laundry except the clothes on your back and sheets.
  • Splendid! Great tech support. Strong and reliable machine. Vented. Wouldn't own an RV with out a w/D.
