When we bought this house, wife and I considered the cost of the W/D combo v/s park laundry..Turned out to be a break even the way we do laundry. By the time we spend enough money feeding the park machines to pay for the Splendie, it would be time to get a new Splendie and start over again.
Add this to what was said above and it was a No-Sale for us.
Did you factor in the wear and tear that commercial laundromats place on your clothes? Dirty rooms in bad parts of town using a machine that the last person used to wash his dog bed or worse? Doing laundry at our convenience and knowing things are clean is priceless for us.
X2, IMO, the only decision is whether to get a combo or stacked units. As previously stated, the combo switches to dry without you being there but the stacked pair allows the start of a second load of wash while the first is in the dryer. We have had both types and consider the W&D a must have.
