Washer Dryer combo

When you see a model you think you like, get rid of the salesman for 30 minutes or so and play house. Pretend your making a meal, watching TV, using the toilet, taking a shower. How about garbage in the kitchen? Basically you wand to play house and see if it is comfortable for both of you. That's how we found our current trailer and we have been extremely happy with the floor plan since 2005.

while I have such great people in the forum- anyone have a comment about split bath VS bath and 1/2. still trying to find exactly the unit we want...

The trick for good drying is to NOT have the dry cycle continuous after the wash. After washing, remove items and give them a shake then back in to dry. Has not failed me yet and YES, I do the laundry at home and on the road.

It doesn't dry as well as your home dryer but we have learned to live with it. Didn't want one when we bought this RV new but it was in there and wouldn't own another RV without it. I have the combo and use it sometimes but doesn't work for large towels or sheets. I would prefer a stackable separate washer and dryer if I had a choice. Clothes do wrinkle, but there are ways to prevent that. Use fabric softener not dryer sheets. Very small loads. Remove clothes promptly and hang. I remove shirts and hang them wet to help with wrinkles. We use laundromats for heavy towels and sheets.

DW has declared this a success and has now put it on the "must have" list for long term RV'ing. We go anywhere from 3 months to 11 months at a time and not having to go to the laundromat has made her a happier camper. Now, we just have to make sure we stay in one place an extra day or two and have a sewer connection. She doesn't mind spending a whole day doing laundry because she can do it while staying in her pajamas and reading all day!

The greatest thing about having a washer/dryer in your RV is no more wasted time at the laundry room! We usually start a load in the morning after breakfast and before we start out work. Come back mid day take them out fold and put away and if necessary start a second load. At least with a combo unit. If you have a stacked pair it means you will have to come back sooner and move wet laundry. Your choice, but either way still beats the alternative. The key to doing laundry in the Splendid units is do not overload, be sure to only get a vented, and take them out as soon as they are finished.

I have a Danby Washer and a drying rack that fits on the back of the 5'ver. Danby offers an 11 gal wash tub so you can do a little bigger load, and also spins most of the water out. My wife loves it! (that being said, she hasn't noticed that I've just placed it but not connected it to the plumbing yet) Yes, loves it! shows it to her friends and talks about no more trips to the laundry mat or hanging around the laundry mat while kids are running around yelling.
She's happy, happy, happy! ( for now)

We have the individual stackable Whirlpool w/d which allows us to do more than one thing at a time. :C

Yes, it works great, just like the others said small loads only.
