Yeah CA is number two on that list posted earlier, but our Sacremento loonies are working hard to be number 1! Oh and I don't think that chart includes sales tax that is charged on fuel here! So depending on the price of gas the tax can be another .24-.40 a gallon!
To Francesca's point about being one of the only fair taxes, it was in CA when I started driving many years ago and we had the best highways in the nation. The politico's raided the highway fund and have sidetracked funds to everything and anything BUT highways! When they do get around to building a road they design it for capacity from 4-5 years earlier and then take 5-8 years to build it! So we outgrew it 2 years before they broke ground! :(
