- nomad297ExplorerDrill a hole slightly larger than the rod on the opposite side of where the rod is now, right in the center. Drill it about 1/4" to 3/8" into the plastic -- enough to drill through the outside of the valve body, but not too far into the gate on the inside of the valve. Take the rod that pulled out and push it into this hole to slide the gate open. You'll get some dripping out of the hole, but hardly enough to worry about. Leave the rod in the hole until your tank drains. Once the tank is drained, you can replace the valve.
Bruce - loulou57ExplorerOoops! Or should that be poops! I would think your only option is to find a few pails that might catch things. I think no matter what you are going to have a mess.
Let us know how you are get out of this "stinky" situation. - saulfun1971ExplorerUnfortunately it is closed and very full to the top from four day boondocking?
- tenbearExplorerI replaced my black water valve some time ago when it was damaged. If you can get the pipes on either side to move about 1/2 inch apart It is an easy job to replace the valve.
I hope your black tank isn't full. Mine has 2 valves, one at the tank, the other in the usual place. Fortunately, the lower one broke.
If you place a bucket under the valve you should be able to catch most of the contents of the tank if you are careful. Good luck! - nomad297ExplorerIs it stuck in the open or the closed position?
