Actually as a kid I drank out of the local rivers when swimming. Brown water with lots of tannin. Good stuff.
OTOH last week I did see a couple cleaning fish at one of the campground faucets. That's beyond ignorant, but since I've set myself a goal of not stressing over things that don't directly affect me or mine I elected to let their closer neighbors deal with it if they chose.
