Given the vagaries of life, I hold no less 5 degrees from thoroughly accredited institutions (none of them mail order):). One of those is in biochemistry. My pursuant remarks are based upon that knowledge with the understanding that a few here will not get it. (2nd of the remaining 4 degrees was Psychology...largely useless except in contexts such as these wherein everyone of a particular mindset will continue to argue without facts.)
Household bleach averages between 3-6% sodium hypochlorite by volume. In terms of maximum efficacy a mixture 1:3 is optimal. Spraying it on full strength is actually counterproductive.
Herein lies the rub>
NO bleach solution will be even minimally effective before 5 minutes and only fully effective (given the limitations of chlorine) at about 15 minutes.
Bottom line? If'n it makes you feel better to get out your little spray bottle and squirt away, go for it. You are accomplishing nothing.
To the naysayers who care to look, there is copious supportive literature both online and off.
