Water Faucets at campgrounds

There is a water faucet that says "no cleaning or washing" on it. I think it's for filling water jugs, and RVs.
People are constantly washing their feet, hands, etc. in it.

So, I said something to someone doing this.

"Oh, I'm only rinsing"

  • Any water that goes into my mouth comes from plastic gallon jugs of distilled water. Coffee and cooking. Sometimes, even "good" water in a CG has a taste to it. And that doesn't count what idiots do.
  • its a very scary and dangerous world out there... 1000 different ways to die or be horribly maimed, even by a simple water faucet
  • In many campgrounds, the water faucet is also NOT for filling RVs. People tend to ignore what gets in the way of what they want.
  • One of my favorite quotes is
Don't write so that you can be understood, write so that you can't be misunderstood.

Perhaps the sign should read "Use ONLY for filling RV fresh water tanks and water jugs."
  • Loved to watch the dogs in Florida.... some were watered by opening the tap, other spots taps were low, and there they lifted a leg and washed them.

I never hook up without a pail of water and bleach to sanitize the tap. I never drink campground water.
  • Well, I suppose it beats washing the dog, the sticky supper dishes and the toddler after he had a full diaper. If it's bothering you, report them to the management. With our education system, just because you get a diploma it doesn't mean you can read.
  • It's the 'all about me' attitude, you can't fix rude/stupid.

All you can do is tell them about it, unfortunately they probably won't stop.

Carry a spray bottle of water/bleach in your RV and use it before you get water from the faucet.
