water on slide toppers

I think once mine go....they are gone.

CareLess uses fabric and thread that doesn't last long in the sun. I'm about to replace mine with a much better fabric and thread.

I've had 2 fifth wheels with toppers and wouldn't have another without them. The small niggles are more than compensated by their pluses.

Two fifth wheels no toppers thought I needed them. Next 5er had them. They were ok but one tore and the other two were getting worn, this was on a 4 year old rig. Next two 5er's no toppers and have NOT missed them one bit!

As you can see, this is a common occurrence. You either let it sit, or bring the slides in to allow it to run off. A small breeze or wind, will often move it enough to push the water off. The one thing to be aware of if it freezes after. In this case it will make a loud crashing noise when the slide is coming in. To prevent this, bring in the slide to dump the water before going to bed. If this all occurs in the middle of the night, then freezes, and you're leaving in the morning, the best thing is to get up there with a ladder and push the ice off before bringing in the slide. The ice thing probably occurs every couple of years for us, so the benefits of having slide toppers far outweighs the infrequent problems.

I tried the beach ball approach and it worked, except water accumulated on either side of it, so now two puddles instead of one. Then I bought the largest swim noodle I could find and slipped it in from one end, standing on a short ladder. It worked just great. Just remember to remove before you leave or put your slide in.

I just let it sit then when we pick up to leave just don't be standing anywhere near slide.
