We have four different drinking water hoses.
The hose from Wal Mart is full of kinks that seem to have permanently set. It's also somewhat stiff and harder to roll up properly.
The best hose is a "Neverkink" brand which is available at RV stores. I bought it on sale at a marine store. It's worth the extra money (about 2x the Walmart hose).
I tried the hose that rolls up flat (white drinking water type) and after about 2 years it sprung leaks. Also it had to be laid out on the ground without sharp bends which caused it to kink and stop water flow. It was very convenient to use and store but it didn't last very long.
