I've been using this Harbor Freight 12 V pump for a few years. It is pretty reliable.

That little transfer pump has done heroic duty here. I would assume that at sometime the impeller may wear out but the stainless steel housing should last a good long time. I'm always pleasantly surprised when an inexpensive piece of mechanical hardware operates as it should and has some durability. This pump is one of those.
