water trapped in my slide out

Well it looks like I had a leak in my slide out and water is now trapped in the ceiling. I have since solved the leak, but how do I get the water out? I know the slide out will have to be taken apart, but is this something I can do or should I leave it to the professionals? Has anyone else had a similar problem?

  • The only way this is going to properly dry is to remove the ceiling material. Only then will the insulation be exposed and allow it to dry. They're may already be mold up in there. If you're not comfortable doing this then get it immediately to someone who is...
  • Yes, I removed a light fixture because water was leaking out of it. So now there are several small holes where that fixture was. When I press up on the roof, water comes out. I can feel that the insulation is wet and seems like a sponge. The roof is visibly sagging due to the water.
  • Have you tried a small nail hole, or a pencil to punch a hole in the ceiling?

    to drain the water out.

then chalk the hole to repair it.
