I use Jasco Liquid Prepaint Conditioner (sold at Big Box stores) diluted in a garden sprayer for final cleaning and oxidation removal. If there is wax on the surface, I add in a butyl cleaner. Spray, brush, spray, rinse.
Any top brand marine wax is a good choice and if you can burnish it on with a buffer, it will be more durable (and lovely). Collinite is another good wax product. I have been experimenting with Parfe Liquid Wax and results have all been positive. Spray with garden sprayer, let dry. Second coat for more lustre.
