Ok, today was leaving day. I’ve managed about 90 miles so far, stopping at almost every parking area and reat stop to readjust this hitch.
So, results so far.
4 links was scary. Couldn’t go faster than 55, sway all over the place, bars were pointed up at the ends slightly.
Dropped to 5, better. Can do 65 max before its starts to sway. Left it at 5 for about 40 miles and been doing about 60. When trucks pass i can feel the wind push and pull the trailer. If i go above 65, it starts to sway pretty good.
Remember I don’t have the friction sway control on yet.
I’ve attached some pictures of the set up here. I’d like to get opinions if i should drop down to 6 and see where that takes me.
Also, this trailer is heavy.
