No, not a bad day. I'm just wondering how many of us thought that once we bought the "big iron", we'd be done. And certainly, the biggest expense has already happened. But gas/diesel prices have soared. And the promised mileage was a pipe dream. Do tires cost THAT much? Was that mattress originally a torture device? Then there's furnishing another kitchen, bedroom and bathroom or hauling the stuff you have at home to the RV and back.
And I'm paying more for a CG site than I did 10 years ago. The CG operators expenses have continued to climb and that gets passed on to us. They never expected to be a charity, but their insurance and utilities have gone up just like ours have at home. Same with payroll and taxes.
Then there's Camping World and Cabela's. I've never walked out of either one empty handed. There's always something in the store or catalog that I can't live without, even if I didn't know it existed until I saw it.
Finally, if you're still on your first RV, you're either new or a member of a very small minority.

The boat I spoke about was wood. And it had to be pulled out of the Ohio River every year because the marina and docks were pulled out of the river every year. The river freezes at least along the shore line every winter and in the spring it breaks up in large chunks. Some big enough to put a hole in a boat or in the head boat of the marina. And sometimes, a boat will break away from a dock. Yesterday, a two story tall riverboat restaurant with 83 diners on board, broke away from its dock and floated down the river until it hit a bridge support. If they don't get it secured today, it could severely damage the downriver locks used by the huge barges that move down the river to the Mississippi on a daily basis. They did get the 83 passengers to shore.
