We use cell phone apps - Weather Radar maps on the computer - Noah WX radio in the trailer on 24/7 when we are camping - watch the Natl Broadcast Digital HDTV using the OTA BATWING antenna from the local towns alot when camping. There will always be at least one local station that has a 24/7 weather radar channel going 24/7
At regular camp grounds the owners usually make a good effort to alert everyone if bad weather is approaching. Have had to go to the bath house structure on a couple of occasions.
Just got to be aware of your surroundings.
