Twice in my lifetime, I have seen conditions go from "clear blue sky" to thunderstorm with EF2 tornado and back to "clear blue sky" in about 20 minutes.
Luckily we had an underground storm shelter.
That's the way they tended to pop up in Central Florida. Pretty hairy when what you are trying to do is approach control for underpowered heavy aircraft, tankers and bombers.
