We all seem to be especially afraid of weather that we are not familiar with. Severe thunderstorms with hail & tornados scare the you know what out of me. Hurricanes, even big ones, do not. I have lived through more hurricanes than I care to remember including a cat 3-4 that gave us hurricane force winds for over 24 hours & left us without power for well over a month.
I got minimal structural damage but major boat damage from that one. The boat got hit by a tornado inside the hurricane which tore it off its mooring.
Those monsters that roam around the middle states are to be avoided. Each time heading west in the spring we have looped down & run around hugging the Gulf to best avoid the thunderstorms.
So far so good. Only been under a Tornado watch a couple of times.
