THIS is VERY true. There are states that at a given time of the season you are just asking to be put in harms way traveling in an RV.
When I was new at Snowbirding I left Florida at various times to head back up North. First time I had to dodge tornado's I blew it off. It took me 2 times to realize there is a definitely a SEASON and REGION for these conditions to be ripe and chances you will be affected driving thru them 100%.
I NOW know when NOT to head back thru the states of the "Bermuda Triangle of Tornado's" and Deadly Storms. I now make sure I either leave early enough to avoid them or I just stay in Florida longer.
