weighing first trailer
We are picking up our first trailer soon. There are CAT scales not too far away, I am wondering if there is a benefit to weighing the whole rig, even though the trailer will be empty (except the battery and propane). The TV will be similar to how we will tow, the two of us, our two dogs, and 50-75 lbs of other stuff.
I also have purchased a sureline tongue weight scale.
We will be going on our first loaded trip in a week or so, I can weigh everything then, but not sure how much patience the DW will have at the truck stop with the trailer loaded and ready to go.
one other question regarding the second and third readings (WDH unhooked and trailer unhooked). Do I leave the receiver shank connect to the TV receiver? The dealer is installing a Husky Centerline TS hitch, which looks similar to the Equalizer. Do I remove the weight distribution bars and place in the back of the TV (a Jeep Grand Cherokee) for both the second and third readings?
thank you
