I would put a ruler next to the cracked area and send several digital photos to the dealer and the manufacturer. This would document the size and date of the damage.
Explain that you have no option but to use the shower on your trip, and that you expect it to be replaced when it's convenient for you.
I would wipe that area down with alcohol or acetone and then cover the area with a good quality duct tape. Overlap the edges of the tape as it's applied.
