Well, I just did "it" again! Drats!

Winterizing that is! Yea! Really!

Temps have been pretty nice in Indiana the last few weeks. I think everyone thought old man winter finally left! But no! That weather man on television said Sunday morning (tomorrow) should be around 28 degrees. I wouldn't be concerned about winterizing again if it was warmer in the day time and dipped to 28 over night. But today, it's just been dang cold, windy and absolutely yucky weather.

Considering the temps are already low, the trailer and all the pipes are already cold, I don't think it would take much to get them frozen now. So, rather than risk frozen pipes, I went shopping for some more Pink Stuff and couldn't find any. So I fell back to plan "B". I simply blew out the lines this time and opened the low point drains.

I had a small amount of "pink" from last fall left. I used that in the P-traps.

At least when we get ready for our next trip in about a week, I won't have flush the pink from the lines! Makes me glad I know how to winterize both ways!

Dang weather! Grass needs mowing now, and several folks around me have already mowed their grass. Just this last week I removed the snow blower from my John Deere tractor and put the mower deck back on. Looks like I should have kept the snow blower on a little longer instead! I haven't mowed MY grass yet! Maybe it will freeze and simply break off!

Thanks for letting me rant!

It was a nice sunny 75 degrees here in so cal.

In So. CA we should "winterize" at least once in our "RV lifetime"
so we could post a weather rant also...:W

Of course - it did get into the high 80's and even 90 a month or so
    ago - (drats) - too darn hot!..:B

  • DutchmanSport I'm in the same boat. Camped at Brown County this past week end and need to winterize again. Menards, Lowes and TSC all are out of the pink stuff. I plan on hitting Camping World tomorrow but blew everything out today.

Quite the adventure at BC this weekend with the wind gusts clocked at big as 64 MPH. Actually saw one person who must have wanted a new awning because the put it out and left. He got his wish.
  • Wow, you are changing my perception of Virginia as a warm region! We live near Dawson Creek, BC where the Alaska Highway starts and we are expecting daily lows above freezing for the next two weeks of the forecast, and probably until fall. High of 14 C yesterday. Not much green grass yet, though.

I put my snowblower in the shed and brought out the lawnmower today.
  • NEVER winterize here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, just have to make sure things don't rust and check the roof for leaks. We've had 34+ inches of rain this year, but it's been pretty nice for the last couple of weeks. Or at least since the big wind storm.
My little brother lives in Anchorage and they rolled the Harleys out last week and got them ready for the first road trip the next day and durned if it didn't snow two inches that night. First real snow in several months.
