"The Alaska Wolfman, Frank Glaser" by Frank Reardan.
This book tells the unbelievable story of Frontier Alaska from around 1910 to 1950. Glaser was a market hunter and trapper that lived alone for years in the Savage River Country near Denali NP. We walked the Valdez Trail 350 miles from Valdez to Fairbanks to select a place to build a cabin. He worked for the NPS, the US Biological Survey, and the USFWS. Glaser was around wolves every day for 40 years. He kept a sled dog team and eventually captured some wolves to use for breeding. He took his wolf dogs every where. I have read a lot of outdoor books, but this one gives me chills every night.
