What brake controller

OK, I'm confused:? but it doesn't take much. I need a brake controller for my 04 Explorer Sport Trac towing my Aliner trailer. Trailer has brakes and weighs around 1200 loaded. What kind of controller do I want, proportional or time delay. The proportional sounds right but wanna be sure.
What do you guy's especially towing a pop up suggest?

    Shop for the best price
    Either the P2 or P3 model.

    Also order the plug and play harness that is specific to your vehicle.
    etrailer.com is a good outfit, good prices, great customer service. Call them for help with the harness.

    Tekonsha is a good brand. I have used the prodigy in a few vehicles including my class a and used the P3. Not sure what the time delay set up is.

    Why would anyone ever consider a brake that starts to work after it gets around to it?
