What transmission is in your Edge? If it is the continuously variable version, it can not be towed four down. We had a 2005 Freestyle with that transmission and traded it for a 2008 Taurus X with the six speed auto which is towable four down, The Edge and the Taurus X used the same drive train - your owners manual should have the information you need.
