- CavemanCharlieExplorer IIIIf I am setting around the campfire I AM relaxing. I don't need to do anything else except stare at the fire.

Else.
Well this is a song
When I was a child
I made my way to school
I found the ways of Children
To be terrible and cruel
As I was different
They choose me or the one
The subject of their pleasure
To torment just for fun
As I grew older
I found new books to read
Of Sorcerers and heros
Of wonderous worlds and deeds
From the worlds I read about
I forged a mighty shield
Built walls of gleaming armor
For the schoolyard battlefield.

Oh I got even with those kids though. I beat them to graduation by a year.

Love the poem. Hope you don't mind if I steal it. - No matter what your individual activities, biggest thing is to RELAX!
- pitchExplorer IIWhy is the drinking so important? I never drink, but I do enjoy a good joint.
People seem to object to my choice of relaxation, but yours is OK? - Reader1ExplorerWe don't sit around campfires except when traveling with friends or it is fall camping and then only for a short time. Evenings we sit outside for awhile, talk about the day's events and the next day, and any topic. "Awhile" doesn't really last long because neither of us are good "sitters" and aren't good "relaxers." Normally we take a walk around the campground before heading into the camper. We play cards, have an evening snack. We are just 2 weeks short of 46 years of marriage and we just enjoy wherever we are. We never turn the TV on while camping either. We are strange ducks!

Get a Campfire in a Can or Fire Dancer. Works on propane. Has real flames and some heat with no smoke or smell. Wife cooks marshmallows over it. I pop a craft adult beverage and Stupidvise.:B - ajridingExplorer III like to go find complete strangers from far away parts and if they have a good campfire then go meet and chat and learn new things or talk about old things. I bring wood with me.
I have met a lot of interesting people, and I never see them again. - RAS43Explorer III

X2 wife is allergic to smoke - BarabooBobExplorer IIISitting around with family at the family campsite we talk about family history, plans for working on the property, past trips, having beverages of varying types, and future trips.
If we are traveling and sitting with new friends, we talk about trips taken and planned, never talk politics. - wa8yxmExplorer IIIWell my first choice is SING if I can find folks to sing with.
