There is the ACTUAL GVW, which is the weight of the vehicle as it is being driven down the road.
Then, (at least in Montana), there is the REGISTERED GVW which is the weight the STATE will allow the vehicle to weigh.
The GVWR is the maximum weight the manufacturer will allow the vehicle to weigh, considering all the standard features installed at the factory (tires, springs, differential ratio, etc.).
