Gross Vehicle weight is how much something weighs. This varies based on whot is riding and what they are carrying. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating is the most the vehicle manufacturer has designed the vehicle to weigh and pass various government specifications for handling and braking. Payload is the difference between those two.
