I wonder if ultimately it's not "laziness" ... like it is with me. I love traveling/living in our RV because it's easy ... not a lot of work, worries. or anxiety.
However let me set up another scenario: How about if you lived in a mansion on a hilltop estate so big it had a lake with fish, spectacular gardens, and hiking trails all over the place, but close to all kinds of off-estate activities and sights to see if you so desired ... all of it paid for, and with absolutely no maintenance or other work related to care for the estate because you had servants and other experts to do it all including keeping everything in pristine working condition and beautiful. Furthermore, all of this being backed by a fortune large enough to keep living like this in this place until you die regardless of when you die.
I'll bet many who think they are in love with the RV life might give it up for the above situation because - like RV living - very little work, worries. or anxiety would be required.
It's funny that you posted this as I have the big place that's paid for, it's being renovated and I'm living in my trailer.
The renovations will take over a year and to be honest I don't think I'm moving back in as I'm thinking that traveling will be less stress and headaches.
I'm really enjoying the trailer live, I have no stress, it's easy to keep clean and it's cozy. It feels like home, I don't get that in the house and I seem so much happier living in here.
