How many times have we all been assigned a campsite & found the picnic tabletop damaged by a grill? It is blackened, warped, even actually burned because people don't think or plain old don't care.
Doesn't take much to carry a block of something to put that tabletop grill on to take the direct heat from the bottom.
I do like my Magma marine kettle. Does not take up table space. Clamps on any table seat. Can use a fitting for it in the basement slide out tray if no table is available. Fits into an holder which goes into the receiver hitch if I want. All stainless steel.
