It is acceptable if you are willing to ignore capitalization and punctuation. Also, the question should be: "Would you please tell me?" As it is currently written, they are asking about your ability to tell them who made you an expert, not who that person would be. The proper answer to the question would be "Yes, I could tell you" or "No, I could not tell you."
