I been thinking about this a lot lately. But it's not just a problem with the RV industry. It crosses over to many others. Even the one I'm in. IMHO there isn't as much of the old experienced talent out their anymore. Many have found other jobs after being laid off or retired over the years. The younger generation doesn't ( IMHO) have the same work ethic as the baby boomers had. I've been hearing a lot lately about how they want more time to themselves and money isn't as important to them as it was the baby boomers.
Automation, and cheaper ways of doing things have become the norm. While the products looks fabulous, the underlying build quality and materials are chosen to maximize profits. Building something that will last 20 years isn't part of the business plan. Not saying their aren't some good ones left ( Prevost, etc), but they're those who make to order, not mass produced to sit on a dealers lot. Not to mention the industry doesn't demand better product, they police themselves. Nobody to hold them accountable.
