Buying a new RV today can be a real challenge. Selecting a dealer is as important (if not more important) than selecting a manufacturer. The sad truth is that the majority of RV's delivered today will have a laundry list defects and build quality issues to be dealt with, right out of the gate.
A dealer that takes the responsibility of the PDI seriously, can make all the difference in the world!
People are going to scoff at me, but we had an amazing experience with Camping World Boston. We knew we wanted a Cyclone 4100 and they had one in upstate NY. We put the downpayment on it and they brought it to MASS. Before we even got to see the unit, CW had done a very thorough inspection and had their own laundry list of issues ready to address.
When PDI day arrived, they had the unit completely set up so that EVERYTHING could be tested and demonstrated. We found a couple of small cosmetic issues that they handled before delivery. They even hosed the entire RV down to inspect for leaks on the roof, slides, windows, etc.......
Once we had the unit on our site, there were a couple more more small issues which they corrected quickly be sending the tech to our campsite! Since that first month, we have had no issues.
If CW had not been so thorough in their approach, I'm sure we would have had many more issues. Dealer attitude is critical.
