What is your opinion on cell/smart phones for travling?

We are looking to purchase new cell phones to replace our Moto Razr's. We currently have Verizon pre-paid. We are some what neutral about keeping Verizon. In general, we don't use our phones a whole ...

We have both AT&T and Verizon. For the western states Verizon coverage is far superior. The vendor doesn't seem to matter in urban areas, it does matter in rural areas.

Others have posted that AT&T and Verizon are about equal east of the Mississippi.

Also AT&T 4G coverage (on my iPhone) is a marketing ploy and a joke. Make sure you have LTE coverage capability.
