What kind of Hitch is this?

It was on the TT I bought & I'm getting a different type so I wanted to know what this was. There's labels on the arms but they're too torn to read. THANKS!!

  • Tango, not gotten lighter:H I have had mine for several years and like myself, has gotten HEAVIER!
  • I still have my 1000# bars and head.
Of course the bars hang on the garage wall.
Not need with the fifth of course.
Still use the head to tow heavy boats.
The solid 2" shank and head have not gotten any lighter either.
  • I have the same one - with 1000 lb bars; bought it new about 10 years ago.

The instructions tell you to lubricate the ends of the bars where they go into the bottom of the hitch with a small amount of "red grease" to prevent wear.

Use the same grease on the ball and you're good to go.

  • It is an old Eaz-lift, though the brackets may be Reese . They had a couple of head designs- one with small spring loaded tabs to retain the bars, others that you simply had to rotate the bars past 90 degrees to remove.
  • Looks just like my Eaz-i-lift (spelling?) from the 60's.
Round bars changing to flat at the chain end.
