Towing a 4K# TT with my V6 2008 Explorer, I averaged 9.5 MPG trying to maintain interstate speeds. Gain between one to two MPG on the back roads from less wind resistance.
Towing same trailer with my V8 2019 F150, I gained about one full MPG.
Both have factory tow packages.
From my earlier research on the RV forums, 9-9.5 MPH is most common with gas engines if towing around 80% of your tow rating.
RPMs? I do what I have to do with the TV engine to maintain headway and speeds.
